Monthly collections for LHM and East Ren Foodbank continue and are well supported by the congregation and the organisations are delighted to receive the goods from us.
The Foodbank weigh the donations that they receive. Our contributions were
as follows - February 105kg, March 75.8 kg and April 52.8kg. April’s
donations to the Foodbank were down but this was because The Lodging
House Mission had requested items for their Emergency Food Parcels they
give out to people and as a result more of our donations went there. With
the present economic climate Foodbanks and Emergency Food Parcels have
become a vital lifeline for many people.
Collections for both are on the FIRST SUNDAY of the month at the CHURCH service at 10.15am, with a further drop off session on the FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY at the HALL between 10 and 11am. Food donations will be taken to both places as soon as possible after the Wednesday.
The Foodbank publish a list of most needed items depending on what items they are short of. The Lodging House Mission are always in need of UHT milk, diluting juice and eggs. Every so often the LHM have appeals for certain items like the Emergency Food Parcels which we will support. A couple of weeks before the collections we will publish the requested items in the Sunday intimations and on the church website.
More information about these organisations can be found on their Facebook page or website.
Thank you for your continued support.
