On Good Friday at 3pm the Church bell will be rung.
This is the moment when the Gospels tell us that Jesus died.
To mark such a solemn moment we ring Mearns Kirk Church bell.
This year, as the bell is rung, I would ask not only that we pause to remember Jesus,
but also that we pray for those who have been bereaved due to the coronavirus;
for those who cannot be with their loved ones who are dying,
and for those who are dying.
In love, at the foot of the Cross, we remember them all before God.
On Easter Sunday morning the Church bell will be rung, this time to remember
the risen Jesus and His victory over death which offers a Hope rooted and grounded
in the Love which promises to make all things new.
