We are very grateful to all those who have led worship at Mearns Kirk over the summer. We have appreciated your support with this. We are especially grateful to Alan McKay who led worship on three occasions.
Joe's last official day as Minister was 31 July and from 1 August we welcomed Rev Jim Teasdale as our Interim Moderator. Jim led worship on 6 August and is now responsible for Mearns Kirk until a minister is appointed for the (yet to be agreed) union. From 1 September, we will have a locum minister who will lead worship every Sunday and spend 2 days each week on pastoral work and conducting any f funerals. Wednesday services are still to be organised. So Rev Eddie Simpson, our locum, will preach for the first time on 3 September and it would be lovely to see as many people as possible there that morning. A warm welcome is extended from our church family to both Jim and Eddie.
Church activities start again in September with Sunday Club meeting on 10th September. We look forward to seeing our children in church every couple of weeks. Our cluster work has had a break over the summer too so there is no news about the future of Mearns Kirk. We will keep you up to date as news emerges.
We look forward to seeing you in church and if we can help with anything please remember that we can be contacted via the office.
