The beauty of Orkney as recounted by Joe.
On the occasion of our first meeting of the autumn Joe brought technology into our midst and connected up his laptop to the projector in the Broom Church Hall and showed us the many photographs he took while he was in Orkney. We travelled with him to the isle of Hoy and Walls and marvelled at the Old Man of Hoy as Joe peered over the cliff to avoid being blown off by the wind. We admired the small church where he ministered for a couple of weeks with the most beautiful views which were always visible as in the month of June the sun never really sets. He took part in a half-marathon, sailed across Scapa Flow, visited Skara Brae and the Italian Chapel, and he managed to convey to us just how much he enjoyed his visit.
All of this was finished off with a welcome cup of tea/coffee and some cakes and biscuits which were much enjoyed by our small group.
