A big hello to all our members and volunteers. We have been busy planning for our new session of the Friendship Club and look forward to getting back together after our summer break. This popular club offers a chance to meet and chat with friends, enjoy a varied programme of entertainment, and have a lovely hot cuppa and cakes, served by our volunteers.
Sadly, we have lost one of our team, the lovely Evelyn Humes, who passed away suddenly in June. She has been a true inspiration to us and trained up many volunteers, in her own gentle way, to meet her high standards in the kitchen. We will all miss her company and friendship.
Our first meeting back will be on Tuesday 12th September, opening with Eros Singers with a variety of songs from well known musicals. In later sessions, we will have our regulars, invited back by popular demand, Jim and Maureen, and also a gentle exercise to music with May Macintosh. There will be our usual Christmas Craft sale in late November, not to mention our annual Christmas Party.
We look forward to welcoming our friends and any new members who would like to come along every second Tuesday afternoon from 1.45 until 3.15pm. Please get in touch with Mearns Kirk Helping Hands for more information.
